The band has also developed a notorious reputation as a must-see live performance, thanks to their intense, highly entertaining, and crowd-engaging on-stage performances.
Rudimental stands as a beacon of the Drum and Bass musical revival and multi-culture modern-day Britain, as all members hail from different ethnic backgrounds.
The group's latest album is "Ground Control" (released in September 2021), a high energy kinetic sound-system rollercoaster filled with notable guest appearances from The Game, Skream, and Digga D, to name but a few of the collaborations on this 16-track record.
In an intriguing recent interview with Apple News, Rudimental share a candid track by track breakdown of the album, a truly fascinating insight into their creative process and mindset, as they reflect on how "Ground Control" is a love letter to dance music.
Regarding the album being made during COVID times, member Piers Argett states, "The flip side of not touring through most of 2020 and 2021 was that, for the first time since becoming huge, the group could put their full concentration into making an album. We've actually had the most productive year we've ever had as a band. The last three albums were all done on the road in between tours."
As a result, "Ground Control" is an album that features diverse forms of dance music, from drum' n' bass to house to UK garage to jungle and many more. There is, however, a strong interlinking ethos throughout all these themes, that it is above all music devised to unify people, to bring us all together, which is especially vital through these difficult times.
As Argett brilliantly deciphers every track on the album (including smash hits "Be Somebody" and "Straight from the Heart") in the interview, you really get a profound understanding of the psyche of Rudimental and appreciate that even after 10 years of making music, they are still making music as fresh and relevant as ever before.
