A warm welcome to ipropaganda’s film section! I want to start with a little brief about what you can expect to read in the coming weeks.
What you are about to read doesn’t conform to the standard rules of review writing.
The landscape of film criticism has become barren and monotonous, with each review trying to focus on the same points as the last ones. I’ve also been a part of that cycle in the past, but now I have decided not to follow the norm and go against the grain.
What you are about to read is calm and well thought out.
I am here to talk about my experience with each film in a way that not only represents my personal experiences in front of the screen but has more to do with the form and content of the movie.
What you are about to read is unnerving as well as entertaining.
Criticism is essential to the understanding, dissection and progression of all forms of art. But most film criticisms I read are rarely remarkable or thought provoking. They never manage to stand out as a piece unto itself. Criticism is an art and needs to be represented as such.
What you are about to read will make you think.
Why let another person instruct you what to watch and why? We should think twice before checking out movie ratings on IMDB instead of allowing others to determine our taste. We are not automatons who must flock to the rhythm of a beat when the clicking of the counter gets to ninety.
What you are about to read slaps like a fucking bass guitar solo at the Garden.
I want to watch what I want, when I want and make up my own mind about it regardless of how everyone else feels. That to me is artistic freedom.
What you are about to read is like a thousand bees tickling your feet.
Say no to conformity! Stand out! Feel free!
What you are about to read is like tilting your head to the sky and letting out a feral scream.
I want us all to be free of the chains that make us conform to the nonsensical societal norms. We have to think beyond the Good/Bad binary. I refuse to play the game, and this is my way of flipping the board off of the table.
What you are about to read is not a review. It is an experience.
