THREE STRIKES (f. Khalid) by HONNE

[TSHA remix]

London based electronic-pop music duo HONNE (Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher) have developed a budding reputation as modern music innovators and trailblazers. Thanks to their futuristic soul sound, lo-fi beat and sax-heavy pop. Their smooth and vibrant sound is almost impossible not to dance to.

HONNE's track, "THREE STRIKES" (Feat. Khalid), is off their amazingly named recently released album, "Let's Just Say the World Ended a Week from Now, What Would You Do?", a sadly too poignantly named title during these difficult times. It is their third record to date, following critically acclaimed LPs, "Warm On A Cold Night" (2016) and "Love Me / Love Me Not" (2018).

"THREE STRIKES" deals with the feelings of recent times and readjusting to life after COVID, with profound lyrics such as: "Stuck in my room, I feel safe on my own/And uncomfortable at the same time." In addition, Khalid's emotively soaring vocals bring the emotional nature of the track to another level.

The newly released remix by up and coming DJ and producer TSHA brings a whole new dimension to the R&B heavy track, with her tranquil electronic sound and distinctively intricate style. And in the process has created an impassioned club banger!

Regarding the track, HONNE stated," This one has been a long time in the making. We first met Khalid in 2015 or 2016, when he came to London to play at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen (now known as Colours), which is a tiny venue. We decided to collaborate and made an instrumental which he immediately sang on and sent back to us. We then thought he was going to release it, but after waiting a while, we realised we should do it ourselves. We ended up rebuilding this track over his original vocals, and he loved it. It's a very self-reflective song about retreating into yourself to recharge".
