Pet Shop Boys Discovery: Live In Rio 1994

Pet Shop Boys Rio 1994

1980's English synth-pop duo "Pet Shop Boys" has announced the release on DVD and 2-CD of their infamous "Discovery: Live in Rio 1994" concert. Filmed by famous Brazilian director Roberto Berliner, the film truly captures the wildly passionate Rio crowd, as it was the Pet Shops Boys' first concert in Brazil. The audience live up to the intense Brazilian expectations, as they remarkably sing along with every word to every track with such vigor and love. Resulting in a beautiful combination of crowd and performers pushing each other to new heights, which is a sight to behold.

The set includes legendary hits such as West End girls', 'Suburbia,' 'Being Boring,' 'Go West,' 'Rent' and a unique cover of Blur's song 'Girls and Boys.'

The Discovery tour saw Pet Shop Boys perform with four dancers, backing singer Katie Kissoon and two Latin percussionists to genuinely capture the carnival atmosphere, as you see the iconic duo like never before.

The tour was also groundbreaking because it was Neil Tennant's first tour since coming out, culminating in a truly historic, liberating, and fun performance. And as a result, on "Discovery," everything is more direct: the sexual preferences of the Boys are approached head-on and consequently much more open and artistically beautiful: on tracks such as "So Hard" and "Can you forgive her".

The film will also include clips of their 1994 tour of Singapore, Australia, and Latin America. The rare footage was previously only available on video, making it a debut for DVD and CD format.

An exclusive booklet is also included in the boxset, featuring open on-tour photographs, never seen before interviews, and an on-tour diary by lead-singer Neil Tennant.

Pet Shop Boys Discovery: Live In Rio 1994  was release on April 30th.
