1980s British pop superstars Kim Wilde and Boy George have rolled back the years with their recently released heavily nostalgic single "Shine on". The pair have been well-documented friends for several years, and is the second single released this year featuring them both, after "Name and Number", which appears on Boy George's "Cool Karaoke Vol. 1" album. 

"Shine On" is a commanding and inspiring ballad that exhibits Kim and George's powerful and emotive vocal range. The duo's vocals work subliming together with their incredible chemistry, whilst also playing off one another simultaneously, as the two veterans of the industry show off their unshakeable experience and understanding of their craft, honed over five decades of performing. 

The track exhumes hope and positivity, with the impassioned delivery and lyrical content, particularly on the line, "So stay with me/ Lay with me/ Feel our love/Shine on", which works exquisitely with the exhilarating production work from Fredrik Thomander and Wilde's younger brother and long-term collaborator Ricky. 

The stunning aural content is complemented perfectly by the music video's visuals, with the twosome displaying their trademark exuberance and flamboyancy in an atmospheric and intimate nature. A fitting match for the song's powerful message. 

Here is hoping that Kim Wilde and Boy George return in the future to rekindle their undeniable chemistry together in a justified extended manner.

Over 40 years after the release of her enormous hit songs, "Chequered Love" and "Kids in America", the collection comes courtesy of Cherry Red Records and is available in a standard 2CD format, along with a 5CD + 2DVD box set. The career-spanning best-of compilation also features a new duet with Tom Aspaul on the track "You're My Karma".
