Cologne, Germany based DJ/producer Basstian has paired up with China-based Ukrainian DJ/producer MERYKO on the high energy, all action dance track "Burnin' Up".
The international unification of these 2 artists is a leftfield merger. Basstian has had a meteoric rise since winning a remix competition hosted by Spinnin' Records. Basstian, whose real name is Akhil Sebastian, is originally from Kerala, India, before moving to Cologne, Germany. And you can hear the strong German EDM influence in his music.
In 2020 his debut release 'Bomboclap' placed him among EDM's most promising DJ & Producer. 'Bomboclap' was swiftly followed by two more releases on Revealed Recordings, 'Body Rock' & 'Break It Down'. 'Break It Down' also charted at #1 on Beatport Electro House Top 100 Charts. It's been quite a couple of years for Basstian, and he doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
MERYKO is a Ukrainian DJ currently based in China, where she has found an impressive following, thanks to being the resident DJ in various top clubs in the nation, cementing her as one of the country's top DJs.
In 2020, after 5 years of DJing, MERYKO began pursuing her production career and eventually signed with the major record label, Dim Mak, and recently released her first single, 'HouseZilla". MERYKO has been growing at a souring trajectory and is definitely an artist to look out for.
"Burnin' Up" is the duo's first collaboration together, and with its menacing tech sounds and grooving house beat against the alluringly catchy vocals, it is a partnership to remember. It's a high-energy, skillfully composed track that is impossible not to dance to and destined to be a classic club anthem.
