A-Ha Film ‘True North’,
Recorded Above the Arctic Circle

It is typical for us to dispute with one another and become irritated with one another after spending a significant amount of time in the studio. This is according to a statement that was released not too long ago by members of the pop band A-ha. The group also discusses how, over the course of the previous few years, there has been a trend away from the utilization of physical media in the process of music distribution. Because of this, A-ha devised ambitious plans to present the world with a cinematic experience when they first released their newest album.

With the song "True North," A-ha did take a new approach. They kept their word and transformed True North into a documentary film in addition to releasing it as a music CD. It was recorded in November 2021 while the band was staying in Bod, Norway (which is located around 90 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle). In the videos, however, they are not the only ones present in the frozen landscape; other performers may be seen there as well.

The majority of the new tracks on this album focus on illustrating how people are intertwined with their natural surroundings. In addition to being about what is to come and where we are all at this very moment, the songs on True North are imbued with a strong sense of place and a profound connection to the way in which we interact with the natural world. It should come as no surprise that in these songs, the A-ha pop band sings in a way that is genuine, honest, and heartfelt. This aspect of Aha has never before been brought to the attention of the general public.

The response A-ha gave when they were asked what they believed to be the best use of their music was straightforward: "making an artistic statement that represents both fears and hope for the future."

This is the 11th album that A-ha has released. On October 21, 2022, the 12-track compilation was made available for purchase. You may stream True North on Apple Music and Spotify, or you can listen to it by ordering a True North CD. The video CD is available for purchase or rental online. You may also stream it through a number of different video-on-demand (VOD) services.
